The Armidale Softball Association is about to kick off another season. Due to the massive response the Association received to the competition in early 2011, organisers are looking to commence a full competition on October 14, 2011, with games to be held every Saturday.
“The success of the competition held earlier in the year was evident in Armidale Softball sending an Under 13 representative team to a recent tournament in Tamworth, where they competed against other associations including Hunter and Tamworth,” Association President Fee Blevins said. “For this group of girls, many of whom had not competed in the sport in the past, this event proved to be a great learning experience.
“The soon-to-commence competition will have tee-ball games (for all primary school-girls), softball (for all girls in high-school) and senior softball for all ladies. Expressions of interest are being sought for holding either a mens’ competition, or a mixed senior competition in addition to our senior ladies competition.”
Fiona said softball was a great social sport, and the Association accepted all levels of ability and experience.
Expressions of interest are also being sought for people willing to get involved in coaching, scoring and umpiring. Please register your interest today!
Registration Day will be held at Centro Shopping Centre on Saturday August 27 between 9am and midday. If you are unable to attend but would like to register yourself or your child, please contact Registrar, Naomi Bassett to obtain the necessary forms.
