Demon Knights solid against Joeys

DK player Declan Humphries challenges in the air for the ball

In Round 13 of the Northern Inland Premier League, Demon Knights secured a solid win against Joeys FC  2-1 at Rologas Fields on Saturday, with a strong first half performance that yielded two goals for DK.
The Knights controlled the first half, with Joeys making little impact on the game. The first goal came for the Knights at around the 10-minute mark, scored by Chris Daly from a free kick, with the second goal scored by Andrew Cepak at about 10 minutes from half-time after a long period of pressure applied by the Knights from a series of corners.
Demon Knights captain Chris Daly was pleased with his side’s performance, however is still looking for his side to step up the pace.
“We played pretty well in the first half, keeping possession and winning the ball quite often,” Chris said.
“We wanted to improve on the pace that we were playing at from the previous weeks and play higher up the field.”
Chris believes his side still has a lot of improvement ahead; so far throughout the competition DK have felt they haven’t quite been playing their best.
“We are hoping over the next few weeks to really improve in the run home,” said Chris.
In other games, North Armidale United defeated Guyra United 7-0 and South Armidale United defeated East Armidale United 5-0.
