Young archer cleans up with 3 awards

Young Armidale archer Hollie Giles cleaned up at the NSW Archery presentation recently, collecting three awards including: Best All-round Junior Girl compound; Archery NSW Performance Award – Compound Cadet Girl; and Compound Intermediate Girl.

Hollie, who has only been shooting for a short time, seems destined to follow the success of Brendan Howe, also from Armidale Archers; and who has been achieving outstanding results in the junior ranks.

Armidale Archers, although a small club, seems to keep producing high class athletes.

Last year, they also held the very successful Youth National Championships for archery and this year will host the 2013 Australian Open over the weekend of August 3 and 4.

It is a credit to the coaching staff and committee that they keep developing great athletes and keep winning the right to host such prestigious events, which also adds to the local economy. Well done Hollie Giles and Armidale Archers.

If anyone is interested in giving archery a go, you can contact Armidale Archers through their website www.armidalearchers.com.au – Who knows, you could be the next Champion developed from this club.
