SPRING is just days away and in spring a young sportperson’s heart turns to thoughts of … cricket!
Yes as we prepare to wash those soccer, league, hockey and aussie rules jumpers for the last time and cut up the last of the winter oranges our kids are already planning their summer sports.
If your kids are itching to pack away the footy and hockey boots and get into summer then cricket might be just the sport. The Tweed District has a proud cricketing tradition with several strong local clubs offering teams in all age groups.
Cricket sign-ons will be held at grounds around the Tweed throughout September (with games getting underway in October – which at least gives us a couple of weeks of sleep-ins!).
