Armidale Amateur swim-mers enjoyed a successful weekend at Inverell Swim-ming Carnival last Sunday.
Emma Gray blitzed the seven-year-old Girls, taking out all four strokes over
25 metres, while Lilly
Ridges did well in the eight-year-old Girls, winning the 50 metre freestyle, breaststroke and butterfly events and taking home three gold medals.
Amy Kerr won the eleven years Girls’ 50 metre freestyle, which put her through to the 50 metre “dash for cash” in which she came 5th and won $10 for herself.
Representing the boys of the team, Charlie Selby won the nine years Boys’ 50 metres breaststroke and came third in the 50 metres butterfly, while Ben Ridges came third in the eleven years Boys’ 50 metres breaststroke.
All swimmers continued to post excellent times and to make personal bests. Chloe Gray continued to shave time from her 50 metres freestyle event and Emily Selby slashed almost 17 seconds off her personal best in the Girls’ 200 metre individual medley!
