Fifty O’Connor Catholic College students travelled to Tamworth on Thursday August 11 to compete in the Diocesan Athletics Carnival. The weather was a little more pleasant compared to 2010, with only a few showers throughout the day.
Special mention must go to Jordan Evans in Year 7 who was named 13 years Boys Champion and Brad Ramage from Year 12 came away with the medal for 17+ years Boys Champion.
Congratulations to the students who have gained selection in the Armidale Diocesan Team, who will now travel to Homebush and compete in the NSW CCC Athletics Carnival on September 16.
The students who made selection were Tom Campbell, Alli Burey, Jordon Evans, Troy Schultz, Katie Burton, Travis Stahlut, Shannon Wylie, Jess Burey, Tyson Burey, Sam Press, Jordan Press, Erica Sweeney, Elyse O’Hara and Brad Ramage.
Thank you to all of the students who participated strongly in many of the events. The day was about competition, participation, supporting their friends and enjoying the day and this was certainly achieved.

Diocesan Golf Day
This competition was held in conjunction with the Athletics Carnival for keen golfers at the Longyard Golf Course. Students who participated in this event were Lochlan Elks, Justin Hickey, Keiren Weston, Cal Butler and Jesse Constance. The boys had a great day of competition and all came away with golf balls as prizes.
