Chopper Day

SALTBAR Beachbar and Bistro and Saltbean Espresso Bar are throwing their support behind the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service on Chopper Day this Friday.
Chopper Day is the helicopter service’a new annual appeal day and the crew at Saltbar have thrown their support behind the event.
The day is designed to be an annual fund-raising day offering a series of events for people to participate in to thank the chopper for its life-saving work.
Saltbar Beachbar and Bistro will host a sausage sizzle for a gold coin donation from 3pm, with all proceeds going to the much-needed life-saving service.
Donation tins around the venue will also offer the opportunity to donate loose change.
Saltbean Espresso Bar will be offering Chopper Coffee cups on Friday 2 August as part of the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service’s fun promotion to take a photo of your cup in the most bizarre, crazy location, or scene you can create and post it on their Facebook page – www.facebook.com/helirescue
General Manager Kris Beavis said Chopper Day would be an annual celebration for the helicopter.
“Chopper Day is a day to recognise the benefits of having a world-class rescue helicopter service in our region that’s available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, free of charge,” Mr Beavis said.
“We need the community’s help in adopting Chopper Day every year. Make it your day to donate; after all you never know when it might be you or a loved who needs the helicopter in the future.”
