SINCE the inception of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service in 2000, more than 15 Community Volunteer Groups have been formed throughout the New England North West Region generating over $500,000 per annum for this life-saving service.

The groups have a presence in almost every regional town and are recognised by their distinct red shirts and navy blue jumpers, along with a photo identification badge.
Regional groups take on a number of events as well as barbecues and raffles.
The local Armidale group is currently looking for new members.
Are you retired or simply looking to volunteer? Then you may be able to assist the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service by joining the group assisting in fund-raising activities in the Armidale District.
The Armidale volunteer group has been active over the past 12 years and arranges the Services Annual Ball in Armidale as well as a Charity Golf Day.
If you are interested please contact Leonie McKay on 0419 605 087.
Details will then be passed onto the Regional Co-ordinator to arrange a meeting time that’s suitable to outline the program and how you can assist and support the Region’s Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
