Agents take fundraising cake

The staff, family and friends of Norths Estate Agents have put their hands in their pockets, raising $2500 for the Cancer Council thanks to their version of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. “We took $1600 cash on the morning with the balance from follow-up fundraising,” Norths Estate Agents Principal Mark Humphries said.
The event was held out the front of the office of North Estate Agents’ office on Wharf Street and they literally rolled out the red carpet for the passersby and members of the local business community.
Norths even had the force with them – with local police and PCYC representatives joining in the fun as the respected Tweed business community joining in to raise money for cancer research.
According to leading research from Incite Cancer Institute of NSW, if a person lives to 85 years of age, there is a one is two chance that they will have a diagnosis of cancer in their lifetime if they are male and a one in three chance if they are female.
Food was cooked and prepared by staff at Norths as well as a little help from their friends at Tweed Heads Bowls Club. Mark said the business received a lot of support and donations of raffle prizes from other members of the local business community.
