Ocean Road Magazine is preparing to go on a culinary journey with multi-award winning chef Steven Snow at Fins Restaurant on Friday, May 20. The TV personality, author and restaurateur will reveal the untold secrets to cooking succulent seafood, followed by a delectable mud crab luncheon matched with Mezzanine wines.
The exclusive lunch will include a live cooking demonstration by Steven Snow followed by a seasonal fashion parade, with each guest receiving an Ocean Road Magazine gift bag.
Snow earned his status as one of Australia’s best by transforming a deserted and bankrupt restaurant on the banks of the Brunswick River into a Two Chefs Hat establishment. Fins later moved to the iconic Beach Hotel in
Byron Bay.
While in Byron Bay, Fins picked up various accolades including the ‘Best Seafood Restaurant in Australia’, ‘Best Regional Restaurant’ and a consistent Two Chefs Hat ranking in every year of
its operation.
His latest incarnation of Fins is at Salt, South Kingscliff and continues to carve a reputation as one of Australia’s hottest restaurants.
Away from the pans, Snow hosts Channel 7’s lifestyle television show ‘Guide to the Good Life’, along with various guest chef features on free to air and
cable television.
“Mud crabs, laughter and bubbles for lunch; it doesn’t get much better than that,” he said.
“Ocean Road Magazine is an ardent supporter of mine and as a regular contributor to its food and wine pages, it made perfect sense to enjoy a group celebration. Proceeds from the lunch will be donated to the Christchurch Earthquake appeal, so it’s a great cause and we don’t expect tickets to last.” Published by Brian and Melissa Usher, Ocean Road Magazine encompasses all of what living on the coast has to offer in a way that is refreshing to residents, tourists and businesses. “This is our first Ocean Road Magazine event and we are extremely excited to bring our like-minded readers together for an afternoon of great food, entertainment and laughter,” said Mr Usher.
“Ocean Road Magazine attracts lifestyle-focused consumers who work to live, not live to work and who like to live in harmony with a beachside lifestyle. We now distribute the magazine from Hope Island to Ballina and we look forward to future growth as our popularity grows. Proceeds from each ticket sold will go to the Australian Red Cross Christchurch Earthquake Appeal which we are proud to support.”
Snow’s first book, ‘Byron cooking and eating’, published by Murdoch Books was an instant best seller and the celebrated foodie is now working on his second book, due to be published later this year.
The Ocean Road Magazine Annual Mud Crab Luncheon will take place at Fins Restaurant located at 5/6 Bells Boulevard, Salt Village, South Kingscliff on Friday, May 20. Tickets only $110.
