LAST month the New England Girls’ School Livestock Team headed off to the Manning Valley to compete at the Wingham Beef Week achieving outstanding results.
Attendance was high and competition fierce with 18 schools, 260 students and 80 head of cattle attending the week long program.
NEGS posted impressive results with three out of 12 girls selected for the junior judging final.
Each of these students, Amelia Ghiggioli, Emma Costello and Abbie Robertson also won their age group.
Emma Costello went on to win the overall champion junior judge.
Miss Costello also dominated the cattle handling competition by winning the champion prize for this event. Outstandingly, Emma finished up her impressive result by receiving the overall most successful competitor. Abbie Robertson also went on to win her cattle handling class.
Olivia Fenwicke came third in her junior judging competition. This was a fantastic result considering this was only her second livestock competition.
