Tweed Coast locations and kids were the stars this week as the Caravan RV and Accommodation Industry of Australia (CRVA) launched their brand new “Camping for Kids” campaign.
The launch is being held in conjuction with Toasted TV, the Channel 11 kids’ program and on Monday the cast and crew of the popular morning show were on the Tweed Coast filming segments for the program.
The segments were filmed between rain showers at Tropical Fruit World at Duranbah and at the BIG4 North Star Holiday Resort at Hastings Point.
As part of the launch, the show’s presenters Seamus Evans and Kellyn Morris are travelling around Australia in a Motorhome visiting different popular locations – starting with the Tweed Coast.
“To be picked to launch this program is a bit of an honour for us and a good chance to showcase our facilities to the mums and dads who book the family holidays,” North Star Marketing manager Andrew Bradley said.
And of course you can’t highlight facilities for kids without kids using them and so 50 students from nearby Bogangar Public School were invited to come along and be extras for the day at the park’s million dollar water park and other facilities.
Invitations to attend required some effort on the part of the students, who had to earn their coveted places as TV show extras.
Knowing it would be a difficult task to choose 50 kids to attend, Bogangar Principal Cath Lalor decided to run a competition amongst the classes to come up with a pitch using the powers of ‘Persuasive Language’.
