Youth wow the judges

Tweed River High’s Georgia Kelleher has taken out this year’s Lions Club of Tweed Coast South Youth of the Year held at Tri Care Retirement Community, Hastings Point.
Georgia wowed the judges with a five minute speech on photography, which also earned her the Public Speaking award.
But she didn’t have it all her own way with the other students performing extremely well in what proved to be a very close contest.
Sinead Scott from St. Joseph’s College spoke on ‘For the Love of Books’ and Julian Richards also from St Joseph’s College spoke on ‘The History of Lawn Bowls’.
Youth of the Year, which is sponsored by the National Australia Bank is made up of interviews and public speaking.
Georgia will now go on to the Zone Youth of the Year title at Mullumbimby this month.
