Provest promises to work hard as poll confirmed

“I’ll redouble my efforts to deliver
100 per cent for the Tweed,” Nationals MP Geoff Provest promised, as official results on Tuesday confirmed he had been re-elected with an astonishing 71.7 per cent of the two-party preferred vote.
“I am not going to slow down just because the Tweed is no longer considered a marginal seat,” Mr Provest said.
“I am grateful for the massive vote of confidence, but the number that matters is not the election
result tally.
“Tweed Police numbers, Tweed teacher numbers and Tweed doctor and nurse numbers – those are the numbers that matter.”
Mr Provest said the new O’Farrell/Stoner Government had made a positive start despite the setback of Labor’s hidden multi-billion dollar black hole.
“Barry O’Farrell has confirmed we will keep our promises despite the shocking state of the finances we inherited from Labor.
“That means we are on track for a safer and healthier Tweed and of course we will start the process of getting a train service running through the shire,” Mr
Provest concluded.
