Cudgen Headland Surf Club are the proud owners of some brand new carpet – thanks to a little help from their friends.
A make-over at Cabarita Beach Bowls Club has had a flow-on effect for the Kingscliff-based surf club.
“Cudgen received word that Caba was replacing their carpet in the near future and we asked if we could have it,” Cudgen building director Peter MacNamara said.
“Cabarita was more than happy to see it go to a good home so the heads up call came last weekend that the old stuff was going this week and then we organised a team to go down.
“We went down with two utes and a trailer and did a ring around for volunteers.”
The “Caba carpet” will replace some very old carpet at Cudgen that was secondhand when they got it and has been down on the floor since 1998.
“The plan is to lay the new carpet when we do some urgent repairs to our bar area in the coming weeks,” he said.
