A depiction of the Sydney Harbour foreshore has won the ‘People’s Choice’ award in the Let’s Hang It exhibition which opened at the New England Regional Art Museum on Friday, July 22.
The work, in coloured pencils, was by Jones Yue from Hong Kong, who is a Year 11 student at The Armidale School. Jones created the picture during a school excursion to Sydney earlier this year.
For his efforts, he won $100 in prizemoney and a range of art supplies.
Artworks from five TAS students were among 60 selected from more than 600 submitted for the exhibition by budding school-aged artists from across NSW.
TAS Headmaster Murray Guest congratulated Jones for such public acclamation of his work.
