Armidale’s licensed premises are introducing a standard barring policy in association with the Armidale and District Liquor Accord and the New England Local Area Command. The licensees have worked collaboratively with the Accord to implement and develop the policy.
A standard barring policy encourages standards of acceptable patron behaviour in licensed premises, and also protects the safety of patrons on licensed premises. It supports licensees and their staff by educating patrons that unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated in or around any licensed premises and that there are standard consequences for poor behaviour across all venues within Armidale.
The standard barring policy will be well advertised at all licensed premises, with posters and coasters outlining unacceptable behaviours and their resulting penalties to patrons. The poster for Armidale has been designed and developed by the Armidale and District Liquor Accord’s Secretary Mr Patrick Crick from the Armidale Bowling Club.
“The Armidale and District Liquor Accord members are being very proactive around supporting each other regarding developing a standard of acceptable patron behaviours and what will not be tolerated,” Mr Crick advised.
“This will allow the Armidale community to socialise in a friendly and safe environment.
“These promotional materials will include the offences that are not tolerated and the minimum penalty for such offences.”
