Picture perfect fundraiser

Three of the region’s best-known and most loved photographers are coming together for their second annual Three Photographers Exhibition to be held at the Dawes Pavillion at the Murwillumbah Showground.
Trevor Worden, Tristam Evison and Justin Ealand have again donated all the work for the exhibition to be held on November 19 and 20, from 6.30pm on Saturday night until 9.30pm and 10.30am to 1pm on Sunday.
All money raised from the sale of the work, which the trio are currently busy framing, will go to the Tweed/Byron Network Cancer Care Unit.
“We decided to make it an annual event,” Tristam Evison said after the success of last year’s event.
“Last year we had approx $4300 worth of items for sale, and we were able to hand over just over 4k. This year we have $12500 worth of stock for sale – so fingers crossed!!
“Last year we had maybe 200 people there, and there was live music, beer, wine and a great atmosphere of enjoyment.
People are able to buy a great piece of art for their wall and they are also happy in the knowledge that they are giving back to the community as well.”
Opening night will feature music by Loren.
Tristam said the trio decided to put on the exhibition after being touched by cancer and wanting to help out.
“One of the main factors behind it was that Justin’s wife had just been through treatment for cancer and so they had a first-hand experience of what it was like,” he said.
