The graduation ceremony of the Gold Coast Training Academy at QT in Surfers Paradise on Saturday night proves there is much more to the beauty business than slapping on mascara, smearing on lippie and spraying on a tan.
This is a very serious business, as evidenced by the 130 graduates, family and friends who gathered for the awards night, all eager to be awarded their Diplomas and maybe win a prize.
There were dozens of awards ranging from Top of Class for Waxing, Make-up Artist of the Year, to the most prestigious Valedictorian. Oxenford student Katie Taylor took out this award and is leaving on a prestigious six month internship to Oberoi Resorts in India – ranked No 1 in South East Asia and No 5 in the world.
All looked super fit and healthy and, as you would expect, with not an eyebrow or lash out of place.
