The multi-award winning Armidale City Bowling Club has commenced a million dollar refurbishment, with the club makeover to be ongoing over the next three to four months.
The Bowlo has contributed over $1 million in the last decade to developing and cultivating sporting, health and social welfare services for local community groups. The Club developed ties with over 85 community groups that utilise the Club’s facilities.
Now, it is time for the Club to spend some money on itself and CEO Pat Crick said that the re-designing of the interior has not been taken lightly, with a specialist club design consultant brought in.
Mr Crick said that the major investment is a show of confidence in the future of the Club and Armidale generally, while also being demonstrative of the prudent financial management of the Club, pointing out that the extensive refurbishment is cash, not debt, funded.
Much more than a renewal, the Bowlo is going for a fresh new look, with numerous member and community benefits, according to Mr Crick.
“It is a total interior refit, including furniture, decoration and in some areas, layout,” he said. “We will have a professional and seamless design, right throughout the club – something that members and the community can be proud of.
“Over the next couple of months there will be some disruptions, especially to the restaurant, which may be moved around a little bit within the Club. Overall, there will be minimal impact in terms of members’ access and use of the Club. Some entrances might be blocked off at different times but there will be alternatives.”
