BYRON-BASED Soul Sister will soon be winding down the 2012-2013 season down under and leaving on a big jet plane for the northern summer.
She has 15 gigs already booked in Italy, a new EP ’The Show Stops Here’ to promote and a couple of studio collaborations to fulfill including European Rock icon Gottard’s new album.
Lisa will play her final Australian gig at the Spring at the Bangalow Bowlo on 15 June.
“Going overseas gives me the sense of freedom and excitement that can only come from a change of scenery. “It’s my favorite way to recharge my batteries and prepare myself for the season ahead; which looks set to be even bigger than this year.”
She calls the Northern Rivers home and will return in spring after taking in the USA, England, Italy and Kenya.
The Bangalow Bowlo had a sellout crowd for Lisa’s debut performance; this in turn helped keep the doors open to this historic venue. They immediately booked a second gig.
“That is truly wonderful to hear and feels like it’s a win, win for all of us,” she said
“I love playing locally and giving people the various kind of nights out they want whether it’s the pub or nightclub; for me, giving a world class performance with great musicians and great songs is my only aim.”
If you didn’t already know Lisa has performed with some of the greatest names in showbiz from James Brown to Pavarotti; Aussie icons Jimmy Barnes, Deisel, Tina Arena and even Midnight Oil. Lisa was the winner of ’Australian Idol’s’ ’MY MOM ROCKS’ contest for NSW.
So with less than a handful of performances left, do come out for the last Bangalow party of the season, chock full of Motown, soul, funk and disco. Dance the night away, or sit back, watch and listen; either way you will be transformed by the voice that the critics have called ” A true force of nature”…Fausto Pirito (Russia) and “A voice that deserves to be heard in her own right,” Billboard Magazine (USA).
