The journey from pregnancy to birth to parenting is life changing, regardless of how many times you have been there before. With more than 30 stall holders spanning education, retail and health industries, the inaugural Armidale Baby Expo this Saturday, September 17 at the Armidale Town Hall will be an event not to be missed for expectant, new and established parents, grandparents and carers alike.
In addition to the stalls, New England TAFE students are hosting a play group throughout the day for parents to learn about infant interaction, as well as attend some of the fantastic information sessions including a Q & A panel on pregnancy, birth and post natal health. Further, NECOM’s Mini Minstrels will be playing.
Local businesses and organ-isations will offer short support classes on questions asked by every parent, such as child restraints or how to get the cutest photo of your growing child.
The Armidale Baby Expo has been voluntarily organised by a local group of professional women to raise funds and awareness for Armidale’s Helping Children & Families Association Inc – a volunteer home visiting service supporting young families in need. Entry to the Expo is by gold coin, all to be donated to this valuable community support group.
Doors open at 9am and the first 200 visitors will receive a gift pack and “Lucky Shopper” prizes will be drawn throughout the day. Information sessions start at 10am and Local Member Richard Torbay MP will officially launch the Expo at 11.00. For further information on the day’s activities, visit the Armidale Baby Expo page on Facebook.
