Armidale representatives of Camp Quality were presented a cheque of $21,500 from the Armidale Lions Club at a recent meeting held at the Mung Hing Restaurant in Armidale.
For the third year running, Lions Club members have been committed to raising funds for Camp Quality, who help create a better life for children and their families living with cancer.
“Phil Battersby and myself went around all the local businesses to collect the prizes and then, along with the assistance of local Camp Quality representatives, parents and Lions Club members, we went around and sold tickets in the raffle,” said President of the Armidale Lions Club, Kevin Wotten.
“We started fundraising for this in March of this year, selling tickets in the raffle at the Markets in the Mall and we got really fair dinkum about it in July.
“This is the third year that we have raised money for Camp Quality, which is an organisation that is dear to our hearts and is our major fundraising drive for the year.”
