Guyra Show Society president Chris Sole thinks this year’s Show, which will be held on Friday and Saturday, February 15 and 16 this week, is definitely worthwhile telling your friends about.
“The committee has worked extremely hard and a lot of hours and work has gone into it.
“They’ve done a remarkable job on assisting and organising and pulling this all together,” said Chris.
“Our Cattle section is always great and it’s a feature New England Beef Show, with entries extremely good.
“The Cattle show will be on Saturday, starting at 8.30am; and on Friday there will be the Heifer show; and junior parades starting 2pm on the Friday.
“There are the normal ring and show jumping events both days.
“The normal sideshows, the Showmen’s Guild are very good supporters of the Show and they’ve got a great line-up of rides and amusements.
“Our trade exhibits are strong.
“On the entertainment side of things, on Friday night we have a Bull Ride, which has taken a slightly different format this year. We’re incorporating a junior section in that.
“Saturday evening we have the demolition derby, the fireworks and a couple of novelty events.
“There’s the farmer’s challenge and a Fun Triathlon.
“There’s plenty there for people to see and do, so we’re just looking forward to having as many people there as possible.”
