Freemasons raise money for flood victims

The Freemasons in New South Wales and the ACT have raised more than $168,000 for flood victims in the Eastern States through their charity, MasoniCare – with $7000 from a gala entertainment evening presented by Lodge Thespian from Bexley earlier
this week.
The gala evening, called  Tivoli 2011, featured an impressive line-up of variety artists led by Dee Donovan and featuring Donna Lee, Tete a Tete, John Mansour, Daniel Isaac Jones and Amber Jade, who donated their time. Dee Donavan closed the show in a duet with the Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of NSW & ACT – Dr Greg
Levenston (pictured).
In all, the Masons have raised more than $68,000 in recent weeks. This follows hard on the heels of $100,000 raised by the Masons for the Queensland flood appeal.
“The flood disasters have caused massive damage not only to homes, property and equipment but also to lives and livelihoods of people in QLD and parts of NSW, the ACT and VIC. I would like to thank everybody who donated to the MasoniCare’s Flood Victims Appeal for their selfless generosity throughout,” said Greg Redfern, Chairman of MasoniCare.
