North Star prepare for tourism awards

With judging of the Australian Tourism Awards only weeks away, national finalist BIG4 North Star Holiday Resort will feature on Channel 7’s Sydney Weekender this Saturday, February 18 at 5.30pm DST.
Management of the popular Hastings Point resort was approached by producers of the prime time television program after being named “Best Tourist and Holiday Park in NSW” at the NSW Tourism Awards.
“We took out the NSW Award and this has prompted the producers to contact us about appearing on the show,” said BIG4 North Star Holiday Resort’s Marketing Coordinator, Andrew Bradley.
“It will be a great lead-up to the Australian awards in early March to be featured on national television and be showcased to over 200,000 viewers throughout New South Wales,” he said.
“Many people from interstate aren’t quite sure where Hastings Point is, so this is a great opportunity to show where we are, reinforce our close proximity to an international airport, as well as the beauty and attractions of Northern New South Wales as a holiday destination,” said Andrew.
The Sydney Weekender crew spent two days filming at the resort during December to put the segment together.
BIG4 North Star’s “star attraction”, a new 1.3 million dollar kids’ water park called “Sammy’s Adventure Lagoon”, will feature in the segment, along with the “Seascape Leisure Centre”, a purpose-built area for adults, with hair and beauty salon, massage room, gymnasium and lap pool.
Taking care of the family pet is a popular addition to the Resort’s array of services, and their “Pampered Pooch Package”, a joint venture with Gold Coast Tweed Pet Resort, also features in the show.
The popular holiday park brings over 100,000 bed nights to the Tweed and Northern Rivers region each year. There are 129 tourist sites including holiday apartments and cabins and 199 long term sites. BIG4 North Star employs 40 local people in various capacities.
The park has its own free Kids’ Club called Neptunes.
The Australian Tourism Awards will be announced in Cairns on March 2.
