The Armidale Business Chamber will host a ’Meet The Candidates’ event on Wednesday 22 May at the TAS Hoskins from 5.30pm, for the upcoming by-election for the state seat of Northern Tablelands on Saturday, 25 May.
Each candidate will present for no longer than seven minutes. During these seven minutes they address the following questions:
- Why are you standing?
- What are you going to do if elected?
- What is your main message to the community?
This will be followed by a panel discussion – Small Business: ‘too big to ignore’.
Candidates will be asked for the perspective on the issues facing small businesses in Australia, with a particular focus on the issues for small businesses in Armidale.
There are over two million small businesses in Australia, employing over seven million people. That’s over 60 percent of our workforce.
Yet, for too many years, small business has been overtaxed, overregulated and overlooked by government. The NSW Business Chamber has united with the other State Chambers to deliver a campaign to help give small business a voice (www.toobigtooignore.org.au).
The Armidale Business Chamber’s role in this campaign will be to encourage small business owners to speak up and share what issues directly affect them in business, in Armidale.
Members $25, non-members $35 – This entrance fee covers costs of venue, drinks and light refreshments. To book contact the Armidale Business Chamber, Suite 3, upstairs Richardsons Arcade, Armidale NSW 2350, phone (02) 6771 1177 or email directly to office@armidalechamber.com.au
