VALUABLE practical experience in what to expect in the real world of a job interview has been delivered to over 30 Year 10 students at Uralla Central School.
Rotary Club of Uralla members provided interview panels that emulated real-life experiences for students.
Panel convenor, Rotary Past District Governor, Noel McLaren convened interview panels and resembled a real interview as close as possible, providing experience for the candidate.
Uralla Central School careers adviser, Amber Harris said she appreciated the expertise of Rotary Club members.
“Each student was well-prepared and attended their mock interview with a job application letter, and a resume,” she said.
“Interview panel members evaluated each candidate and rated them according to relevant job/work experience, interpersonal skills and motivation.
“Students had said expertise provided by Rotarians was appreciated and would prove beneficial to them.”
The mock interviews helpedĀ students learn what could be expected in a real job interview, and improve their self-presentation.
Each job seeker gained valuable experience from what was regarded as an actual interview.
