Clubs backs rescue flights

A GENEROUS $2000 donation from the Armidale Ex-Services Memorial Club will go a long way to support the Westpac Rescue Helicopter service.

Club CEO Scott Sullivan said it was important for the Armidale community to get behind the vital service that had recently had a setback with the loss of life-saving winching services.
“Here at the Servies we are committed to helping raise funds and awareness for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and are encouraging the Armidale community to get on board,” Scott said.
“You never know when anyone of us might need the help of the service.”
Interested residents can also show their support by attending the lavish Gatsby Ball held at the Armidale Ex-Services Club on Saturday 24 August.
This will be the 12th gala ball hosted by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Armidale Support Group and is anticipated to be memorable with a 1930s themed Gatsby extravaganza.
The theme will revival the spectacular decadence seen in the recent movie directed by Australian Baz Luhrmann.
Band Terra Firma will provide the music for the evening. MC Mike Rabbitt will lead lucky door prizes and an auction and raffle.
Tickets $80 each or $750 for a table of 10. Phone Leonie to get your tickets on 0419 605 087.
In 2014, Clubs NSW and Clubs North/North West will host a race day in May will all proceeds to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
