A MAN suffered facial injuries after being attacked by an intruder in his home unit in Armidale.
Police have been told the 60-year-old man heard a knock on his front door about 11am on Sunday 11 August, but was then confronted by a man in the lounge room of his unit in Queen Elizabeth Drive, Armidale.
The man was allegedly punched in the face several times before the intruder ran from the unit.
He sustained a cut to his forehead and some pain and swelling to his face.
Police described the intruder as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his early to mid-30s, about 183cm tall, and a medium build. The man has short, light brown hair with a slight orange tinge. When last seen he was wearing a long-sleeved orange or red shirt and blue knee-length board shorts.
Neighbours told police they had also spoken to a man matching the description earlier in the day.
