The erosion at Kingscliff has been catching the attention of national and international media over the past few weeks.
On Friday, it was the turn of the local ABC radio station Coast FM to bring the erosion to their listeners, first-hand.
Breakfast announcer Tim Cox and his crew broadcast live from the verandah of the Cudgen Headland Surf Club overlooking the worst of the recent erosion.
Tim said they were drawn to the area to highlight what is a “very important local issue – an issue that affects all the coastal regions”.
“I know that we broadcast from Mermaid, but we have lots of listeners throughout the Tweed,” he said.
After viewing the photos of the erosion, he said he was interested to see the damage for himself and the work that is being done by the Council to deal with the problem.
“It is interesting to see the scope of the work they are doing,” he said, “how big those sand bags are and how incredibly precise they are in the work they are doing.”
