A large crowd of people, young and old, turned up for a night out at the movies in Armidale on Friday February 1.
The 5th annual Newcastle Permanent Cinema Under the Stars has continued to be a successful, highly popular community event, with live music and northern inland junior football among the pre-movie entertainment.
The free outdoor movie event was staged in Curtis Park, on the Armidale Creeklands.
A truly family atmosphere was achieved, even before the main event got underway. The feature presentation was to be animated hit “Ice Age 4”. Sadly, the night came to an early end, due to a ferocious storm, which struck just as the movie was about to start.
Terry Millett, CEO of sponsor, the Newcastle Permanent Building Society, said that Cinema Under the Stars is one way that the largest building society in NSW likes to give back to this community. “It was to have been a wonderful, relaxed night out,” he said.
