New website for New England Expo

Armidale’s premier rural event, New England Expo, is just around the corner and, to help you keep up to date with plans for this year’s Expo, the organising committee has launched a brand new website.
www.newenglandexpo.com.au has all the important information for this year’s event from Friday, May 11 to Sunday, May 13 at the Armidale Creeklands. All the regular attractions will be on again this year, with the always popular yard dog trials, food and wine, New England Graze on Saturday night, lamb competition, wool craft centre and exhibitors displaying local products. There’s plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained, with Solid State Circus providing amazing aerial acts, roving stilt walkers, and the ever popular face painting. These are just some of the exciting events planned for this year’s Expo and event organiser, Andra Müller, is encouraging everyone to keep checking in at the website for all the latest exciting developments.
“It’s refreshing in the fast pace of a technology filled life today, to be able to hold a primarily agricultural event that aims to educate and highlight the significance of the sheep, wool and cattle industry to children and adults alike,” said Andra.
“Having enormous fun and engaging with farm and country life; be it holding a small animal at the animal farm, being amazed at the deftness and skill of a sheep shearer or yard dog handler, purchasing and admiring beautiful woollen products, all goes to understanding and appreciating the end-to-end process of the wool industry.”
Entry forms for the yard dog competitions as well as information for exhibitors and booking forms are available on the website and need to be submitted by the end of March. Exhibitors with high quality handmade arts and crafts are encouraged to exhibit at the Expo as this is an opportunity to demonstrate the excellence of art and craft availability in the New England to a large audience. And remember, it is Mother’s day weekend!
Armidale Dumaresq Council is again supporting New England Expo as are Landmark, Country Fresh, Essential Energy, Ducats, The Great Australian Pet Food Company and Bayer Animal Health. Any local company or organisation who wants to demonstrate its commitment to promoting the agricultural industry in the New England and is keen to assist the Expo in this awareness campaign can be a sponsor. The Committee will be most grateful for any level of financial support.
For more information, please contact Andra on 0400 388 846 and keep updated with all the Expo news on the website and in the Armidale Independent.
