A gazetted half day public holiday has helped boost attendance on a glorious autumn day for the running of the Tooheys New Armidale Cup. Racegoers witnessed four year old Port Macquarie horse Falklands win the cup by a length from Moonbi horse Circle of Fame and third Wyong horse Centabeel.
Trained by Marc Quinn, Falkland’s owners Vicki and Wayne Lynch and Paul Quinn who are member of a syndicate of 10 were in Armidale to see their horse claim victory.
“Mark bought the horse at the Scone sales and he put it out to syndication,” said owner Wayne Lynch.
“We are really looking forward to him getting a good run in all the country cups and today was a great start for him.
