Kingscliff TAFE graduate Roxy Copland and her amazing team are a roaring success with Raw Ink Magazine.
The latest issue of Raw Ink is the biggest issue yet, featuring special guests Bluejuice and Katie Noonan.
In September 2011, Raw Ink was created by Roxy Copland, Liana Turner and Ruth Dunn, seeing the need for a media outlet to cover creative events in the Tweed Coast, Gold Coast and Brisbane areas. These young students applied their creative passions to make it a reality.
Roxy Copland, one of Raw Ink’s creators, started her design aspirations at Kingscliff TAFE. In 2008 Roxy completed a Certificate II in Information Technology and in 2009 a Certificate IV in Web Design. Roxy then undertook a Certificate IV in Graphic Design in 2010, completed a Diploma in Graphic Design in 2011 and is currently studying graphic design at Griffith University on the Gold Coast.
Roxy attributes much of her passion for design and creative flair to the staff at Kingscliff TAFE. “TAFE gave me an opportunity to be creative and helped me decide on what I wanted to do with my life,” Roxy Said.
Roxy, Liana and Ruth work for free, advertise for free and, most importantly, make Raw Ink available for free so that anyone can enjoy it.
“We’ve grown so fast in such a short time, so many high profile creatives have found us and love what we do. The driving force behind Raw Ink is a love of what we do,” Roxy said.
The magazine features reviews of creative events, as well as thought provoking articles and illustrations from artists such as regular Raw Ink artist Rebekah Dunn. To check out the latest issue, go to www.rawinkmagazine.com.
