Work is almost complete on the GP Super Clinic currently under construction at Corporation Circuit, Tweed Heads South.
The Super Clinic is expected to be opened in May 2013.
Member for Richmond Justine Elliot said the Clinic delivers on her election commitment to deliver $7 million for a GP Super Clinic in the Tweed Heads region.
“Locals asked for better health services before the last election and I’m really excited that this service is close to becoming a reality. The GP Super Clinic will deliver better access for health services in a single, convenient location,” said Justine.
The new clinic will provide services from doctors, nurses and allied health professionals.
The clinic will also have a strong emphasis on education for medical, nursing and allied health students.
“The GP Super Clinic has received strong community support. This service will help take the pressure off the very busy Tweed Hospital, it will deliver better local access to integrated health services and it will provide construction jobs over the coming months,” said Justine.
This $7 million in funding is part of the more than $1.3 billion that Justine has delivered for local roads, schools, health and community resources.
