Philippine cultural display

The 2011 Philippine Festival, presented by the Filipino Australian Community Gold Coast Inc  is set to be held on the Gold Coast this Saturday.
This year’s Festival theme is “Beautiful Philippines” or “Kay ganda ng Pilipinas” showcasing the beauty and attractions of the Philippines and will be held at the Dream Centre Complex, Chishom Road, Carrara.
The Festival will officially begin  at 11.15am with the Australian and Philippine National Anthems. Entertainment is always a highlight of the festival, with fully-produced concert-style performances by six of the finest Filipino vocalists known as P-Noise and headlined by Australia’s Popera Tenor Daniel Mallari who is widely considered by the Filipino community as “the Filipinos’ pride in Australia”.
The entertainment gets underway at 11.30am with the best Filipino vocalists paying a concert tribute to legendary Australian artists including Savage Garden, Bee Gees, John Farnham and Tina Arena.
At 2pm P-Noise take to the stage for the feature concert billed as Beautiful Philippines, combining a diverse selection of popular Filipino songs, integrated with cultural dances and culminating in a fitting celebration.
Filipino Australian Community Gold Coast has once again commissioned highly regarded Gold Coast production house D&G Entertainment to produce the quality lineup of entertainment at this year’s Philippine Festival.
This year’s Festival also moves to a new venue at the Dream Centre Complex to accommodate the large crowds that come along to enjoy the annual Filipino -Australian celebration on the Gold Coast.
This year’s Festival will also include traditional Filipino cultural performances, food stalls of Filipino cuisine and local delicacies, children’s activities and promo bazaar of Filipino-Australian oriented businesses and services.
