Federal Member for Richmond Justine Elliot, this week announced the Gillard Labor Government’s $3,075.702 investment over three years to continue 37 support services for vulnerable families and children across the electorate of Richmond.
As part of the Government’s $1.041 billion Family Support Program, local services have received much need funding.
“With the Gillard Government’s investment, local service providers are able to continue providing vital support to the local community like the Tweed Valley Early Childhood Intervention Service Inc and the Family Support Centres in Tweed and Byron bay.

“We know that their work is having a positive impact on the lives of local people.” Justine said.
The Family Support Program provides services in over 2,200 locations across Australia to support families, improve children’s wellbeing and safety, and build more resilient communities.
Community organisations around the country receive funding to deliver important services such as parenting skills training, relationship counselling and family law services.
“The Government has consulted closely with service providers in developing the new program,” Justine said.
“Local organisations have had their contracts renewed for three years, giving them greater certainty and allowing them to focus less on paperwork and more on providing essential support services.
“The new Family Support Program provides more intensive support for vulnerable and at-risk children and families.
“I’m proud to be delivering more than $3million for much-needed family support services for our community.”
This funding is part of the more than $1 billion that Justine Elliot has delivered for local roads, schools, health and community resources.
