It isn’t just big businesses that get behind the Biggest Morning Tea for cancer research. Tumbulgum residents Lynn and Bill Wilbrant open their house every year (this is the second) to allow friends and passersby to take part in the event too.
And to say Lynne gets into the spirit of it all is an understatement. Donning her now famous “Teapot” outfit, Lynne was the perfect hostess for the morning tea at her river-front house.
Blessed with pretty good weather and very good friends, Lynne’s little do raised more than $1400. The day was helped along by friends and neighbours donating baked goods and prizes for the raffles and plants for the sale table.
Also, the generosity of those who popped in for Morning Tea made a gold coin donation and, in many cases, much more, all in the name of a good cause. One in two people are diagnosed with some form of cancer before they turn 85.
Tea and coffee was provided by Alistair Gibb with his Mobile Coffee Van 11th Hour Coffee and talented Claire Howell kept the crowd entertained with her guitar.
The event was also well patronised and assisted by the Mount Warning Dragon Boat girls who are holding their own festival on Sunday, May 29.
