New chapter for Chamber

AFTER leading the development of the Armidale Business Chamber over the past four years, CEO Elizabeth Egan is leaving the Chamber Office and looking ahead to new business opportunities.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Chamber,” Ms Egan said.
I’ve met so many wonderful people and it’s been a privilege to be able to assist local businesses thorough up-skilling, collaboration and bringing people together.
“It’s always wonderful to see people connect and share ideas and business opportunities.”
The Armidale Business Chamber will be recruiting for a new executive officer over the coming weeks and are especially keen to find someone with a passion for community development and regional prosperity building.
Over the past four years the Armidale Business Chamber has experienced 600 per cent growth in membership through its commitment to the provision of timely and relevant information to the Armidale Business community.
Druing this period the Chamber has also opened up positive relationships between UNE; Armidale Dumaresq Council; and business leaders.
“Our member base accounts for more than 70 percent of the Armidale GDP and we are proud to be able to provide the invaluable links between the business community and the key agencies influencing the economic and social prosperity of the Armidale region,” President Andrew Murray said.
Growth in recent years has been driven by provision of outstanding networking opportunities such as the New England Enterprising Women series and the Armidale Business Awards.
Over the past four years the Chamber has brought national experts and entrepreneurs to inform the local business community about emerging trends, providing world-leading opportunities for training and growth.
Business Chamber members receive a free listing in the Online Armidale Business Directory and have access to free business advice and support in human resources management, marketing, digital marketing and industrial relations.
They can also opt in to NSW Business Chamber base membership through a Chamber Alliance. This opens the door to even higher level business resources and support, through the NSW Chamber website.
The Chamber will partner with Bron Pearson, an HR specialist from Bronwyn Pearson Consulting, to recruit the next Armidale Business Chamber Executive Officer. Interested candidates are invited to contact Bron Pearson on 0412 400 206.
