Armidale Dumaresq Council (ADC) is looking to the community to help guide them towards a sustainable future with the final review of the Draft Armidale Dumaresq Community Strategic Plan (CSP) that will give everyone an opportunity to have their say.
ADC is offering several ways for the community to have input into its future via an Online Survey; ‘Big Book of Ideas’ at the Council offices, Kent House and the Library; Opportunities for Community debate and Q&A sessions; and Councillor visits to groups such as Local Area Committees, Indigenous and Service Clubs.
“This is the community’s opportunity to help set goals, particularly for the life of this Council,” said Armidale Dumaresq Mayor Jim Maher.
“The information gathered will be extremely influential, there is no point in delivering what the community doesn’t want; this is helping us shape our goals and aspirations of the community over the next four years.”
The Community Strategic Plan (CSP) has been developed over the last 18 months with significant engagement and will set the future direction of the council for the next 15 years.
“The draft CSP contains the community’s vision – “Excellent lifestyle, Sustainable Growth”, with 21 strategic objectives and 65 goals to be achieved over the next 15 years,” said ADC General Manager Shane Burns.
“Our combined efforts in delivering these plans will lead to significant accountability and transparency in Council’s operations and the ability for stakeholders to assess the performance of Council.”
