RADIO personalities Richard, Bridge and Spida will kick off their annual ‘Give Me 5 for Kids’ month-long fund-raising campaign tomorrow at the Tweed Hospital.
The annual 92.5 Gold FM fund-raiser will begin with the corporate/celebrity bed challenge.
Celebrities will be chained to their hospital beds by Senior Constable David Brown at 6am on Friday (31 May) and not released until they have raised $1000 in bail money.
Southern Cross Austereo Gold Coast General Manager Nick Scott will be one of the 10 corporate/celebrity representatives partaking in the challenge.
“Each year we dedicate an entire month to raising money for ‘Give Me 5 for Kids’,” Mr Scott said.
“There’s nothing better than to see money we raise locally go back into our community to purchase vital equipment to ensure our sick children receive the best possible care in our local hospitals and prevent families from travelling long distances to receive life-saving treatment.”
Councillor Dawn Crichlow, a Gold Coast Suns player and former captain of the Hockeyroos Nicole Hudson are just some of the celebrities that will be chained up for charity.
The public are welcome as spectators of the event where there will be entertainment with characters from Despicable Me, a barbecue and the Gold FM Breakfast Team presenting their outside broadcast.
“The Gold Coast community is all about giving a hand and we’re hoping this year’s event will be better than ever,” Mr Scott said.
