Late Thursday afternoon, two vehicles, recent models Hyundai Ascent and Mitsubishi Magna, collided with heavy impact. The driver of the Hyundai (a red- P-plater) was taken to Armidale Hospital with possible spinal injuries.
The male driver of the Mitsubishi was also taken to Armidale Hospital, suffering a shoulder injury.
Using the jaws of life, fire-fighters worked to extricate people from both vehicles, while Armidale Ambulance Paramedics treated them. Armidale Police determined that the intersection was a crime scene.
The intersection of Taylor and Rusden Streets is a notorious black spot.
With little visibility to cross-traffic, there have been numerous accidents in recent years (despite give-way signs).
