The Tweed and near neighbours the Gold Coast will say goodbye to 2011 and welcome in 2012 in style this year.
Here on the Tweed there will be fireworks presented by Twin Towns at the Oasis Pool and Club Banora at 9pm (followed by a family movie on the big screen) and midnight while the club will then combine with the Tweed Shire Council to present fireworks at the newly refurbished Jack Evans Boat Harbour at Midnight.
But one of the nice things about being on the Tweed at this time of the year is that we get two bites of the cherry when it comes to fireworks displays – see two timezones is not always a pain in the neck.
There will be fireworks at Coolangatta on the beach at 9pm and Midnight (Queensland time) and if you want to travel Robina Town Centre hosts a family fun night with entertainment from 6pm (Qld) and fireworks at 10pm.
Other fireworks and family nights will be held at Southport, Paradise Point and Coomera – check the Gold Coast City Council website for details and check our gig guide for other events along the Tweed Coast.
