Revolutionary read comes to Kingscliff

Journalist Alex Mitchell will be the latest guest of Boardwalk Books, Kingscliff as they attempt to bring leading authors to the Tweed Coast.
Mitchell, who now lives in the region, will hold a talk and book signing on December 6 from 6-7pm at Boardwalk Books, Marine Parade, Kingscliff.
Alex Mitchell began his career in the cut-throat world of Sydney tabloids, but his job took him all around the world.
His book, ‘Come the Revolution’, Mitchell gives a rollicking account of his life in newspapers and of his radical past.
The book chronicles his time in the cut-throat era of Sydney tabloids, his graduation to Fleet Street as an investigative reporter, taking part in the exposure of Kim Philby and becoming editor of Britain’s Trotskyist daily and entering a world of class struggle politics and national liberation movements.
Along the way he met some amazing people including Vanessa Redgrave, Saddam Hussein, Yasser Arafat and Muammar Gaddafi.
In Mitchell’s Trotskyist daily, he entered a world of class struggle, politics and national liberation movements. With fellow revolutionary Vanessa Redgrave, he travelled the US and the Middle East, meeting Saddam Hussein, Yasser Arafat and Muammar Gaddafi.
The book lays bare his life and loves, his past and politics, with the flair of a born storyteller unafraid to ask hard questions about the world, and himself.
As well as Tuesday’s event in Kingscliff, a book signing will also held at Murwillumbah Services Memorial Club on Friday, December 2.
