Kingscliff Ratepayers & Progress Association’s next monthly meeting will be Monday, May 7, 7pm at the Kingscliff Public School library (Orient St. entrance).
The meeting will follow action arising from last month’s resolution to write to the Federal Minister about flight paths into Coolangatta and aircraft noise over the Kingscliff area.
Additionally Tweed Council officers will speak on two on different topics.
At 7pm Tweed Council engineer Warren Boyd will brief the Association on current proposals to convert Marine Parade to one-way traffic between the fig tree roundabout and Turnock Street. How would such a change affect traffic, parking and pedestrians?
At 7:15pm Tweed Council Waterways and Coast Coordinator Tom Alletson will be seeking community input on the revision of the Tweed Coast Estuaries Management Plan 2004 – 2008 for Cudgen, Cudgera and Mooball areas.
The new plan should reflect community goals for protecting habitat and water quality whilst maximising recreational opportunity for fishermen, swimmers, and foreshore uses.
Kingscliff Ratepayers & Progress Association Vice President Scott Sledge said, “If you use the coastal creeks, this is your chance to be involved in keeping the water quality good.”
“Members of the public from the Kingscliff community are welcome to attend. We welcome new members who can join the Association on the night for a modest fee and participate in the constructive development of our community,” Mr Sledge said.
The Kingscliff Ratepayers & Progress Association meet at 7pm on the first Monday of every month in the Library of the Kingscliff Primary School, Orient Street, Kingscliff.
