Duck out for some fun

Kingscliff Rotarian Tim Jack Adams is ready for a quacking good time.

KINGSCLIFF Rotary’s duck race is almost here and it’s time to get quacking if you want a chance to win a new car.
The annual event is all about raising money for various projects in Kingscliff including keeping Ed Parker Rotary Park on Cudgen Creek in tip-top shape.
Kingscliff Rotary’s president Nathan Williams said it wasn’t all serious though.
“The day is about good old family fun,” he said.
“We’re here to assist and support the local community and want to have this day every year, to provide family fun and raise funds that will 100 per cent be put back into the community.”
Hundreds of ducks have already been sold but there’s plenty more available and you know what they say, you’ve got to be in it to win it.
“There’s heaps of great prizes up for grabs and it’s always a great event on the day,” Mr Williams said.
In the lead-up to the 20 October event, Kingscliff Rotarians will be selling ducks all around the Tweed.
On 13 October the Rotarians will be selling ducks at Cudgen Creek.
Anyone who purchases a $5 community duck will be given free 15-minute watersport equipment hire from Watersports Guru.
There will be a big barbecue and lots of fun to be had.
Head down to purchase a duck on 13 October.
If you can’t make it down but can spare $5 for a duck, head to rotaryduckrace.com.au to purchase yourself a winning duck.
You do not have to be there on race day to win.
