THE garden is a great place to learn-by-doing and has lots of social and educational benefits as the students from Centaur Public school have recently discovered.
With the assistance of Bunnings the school students have been inspired to beautify their central quad gardens.
Working co-operatively in teams each year from K-6 have participated in designing and planting, and have developed a strong sense of ownership and responsibility towards their own sectioned garden.
The school’s Support Unit took pleasure in regenerating their sensory eating plot with a great range of edible plants to use in their weekly cooking classes.
Students look forward to their new, visually delightful gardens being judged by Mrs Rhonda Pettigrew who is a previous teacher at Centaur and an avid garden guru.
