During the school holidays, on 25th April, 2011 many pupils from Tweed Heads South Primary School attended the local ANZAC Day Service at Jake Evans Boat Harbour.
The students and teachers marched through the street wearing their uniforms and proudly representing their school. This was following up a school service during the first week back in Term 2.
The school service was held on the 29th April, 2011 to commemorate the 96th ANZAC anniversary. It was an extremely moving commemorative service, with high student involvement.
Students were asked to bring in flowers, photos and medals to honour servicemen and women, who had served our country in war. All the students were fully engaged as Mrs Robyn Salmon made an address to the assembly about a young solder, who was stealing rice and ended up losing his life to spare his friends and comrades.
