Fourteen-year-old Kingscliff High Year 9 student, Breeze Tough, is hoping a small sacrifice will lead to a big windfall for the Leukaemia Foundation.
The Chinderah-based teen is shaving off her long locks to support the Foundation’s Greatest Shave – but she needs help.
Breeze has wanted to do this for a while to show that she cares, but she has waited until her hair was long enough to make a big impact. She is hoping it will now raise “a lot of money” for this worthwhile cause.
The youngster will be shaving off her hair at the Tweed City Shopping Centre’s Greatest Shave Event on Thursday, March 14 at 6pm. Those wanting to help can donate on the night or go to worldsgreatestshave.com and look for Breeze Tough’s link.
And for a bit of a twist, Breeze will have her hair put up into a couple of ponytails and those donating the highest amount by the start of the shave will get to cut a ponytail off.
Breeze’ proud mum Sandy said they had already raised $1000 in donations and are hoping to double it.
